These are projects I have previously been involved with in various capacities. Should you want to know more about any of the projects, feel free to contact me, or follow the links to the websites of the other parties involved.

Trondenes Historical Centre

Barnas Vikingspel

Barnas Vikingspel is a project for children in Harstad, Norway, held at Trondenes Historical Centre. The children worked through the media of drama, music, painting, and food to learn about the viking age and the specific story that occurred in the Trondenes area 1000 years ago. I had the main responsibility for leading the kids in the drama group through writing their own play about Asbjørn Selsbane, which was performed for friends and family on the last day of the course. Trond og Tyra

Trond og Tyra (2023) is a so-called spel, an outdoor performance about historical events. The play concerns the story of Asbjørn Selsbane, and the project is led by Ellen Elliseussen. I took part in the 2023 production as a performer - singing and acting, and a minimal amount of dance. The show was directed by Ine Mariel Solrød and Stine Sjanett Slettbakk. Her Body is a Minefield (2021)

Her Body is a Minefield (2021) is a dance performance based on my first short play, Her Body is a Minefield. The show is produced by myself and Anniell Marlen Åshovd Olsen, featuring dancers Miriam Hansen Troøyen and Edwin Cabascango. We were awarded a young artist scholarship from the Arctic Arts Festival for production in 2020, but the production was postponed because of the Coronavirus. The show premiered at Harstad Kulturhus on the 19th of June, 2021. The piece toured with Den Kulturelle Skolesekken in 2023. Most links regarding this project are in Norwegian.

Programme for On Having No Head at LPAC

On Having No Head

On Having No Head is an adaptation of a book by Douglas Harding, beloved by many important cultural influencers throughout the years. It has been performed in two iterations so far, first at the Bloomsbury Festival in 2017, then at the Newvolutions Festival at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre in early 2018. The first production was largely text based, whereas the second was a physical exploration of the same concepts. My involvement was as dramaturg - I helped the adaptor, Alina Hughes, write the initial script, and I attended rehearsals of both versions of the show. Yet another iteration of On Having No Head was performed at Two Pale Ladies’ scratch night event at the Rosemary Branch

Her Body is a Minefield (2017)

Her Body is a Minefield is my first finished play not written in collaboration. In May 2017, it had its premiere at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington, directed by the wonderful Samara Gannon and produced by Eleonora Fusco of the Lettuce Dream Theatre Company. The play had a four day run and was offered a place at the Bloomsbury festival the same year, but this had to be cancelled due to external circumstances. Her Body is a Minefield centres around the story of four internal organs coming to terms with their relationship to the greater body that they are all a part of.

Flyer for Breathe at RADA

Breathe

Breathe is a solo performance created by poet and actor Daniel Goodwin, created as an MA dissertation piece for the MA Text & Performance degree at RADA and Birkbeck in 2016. It was awarded the highest grade of all dissertation performances in that year group, and went on to play at the Bloomsbury festival 2016, later touring in New Zealand. My involvement as a dramaturg was chiefly in the first stages of the development of the text.

Rapunzel

Rapunzel was a performance art installation created as a dissertation piece for the BA in Drama at Queen Mary, University of London in the spring of 2015. The performance included the soundscape of a monologue recorded as an improvisation, and my own presence in the room, duct taped to the low ceiling by my hair. At the end of the performance, the audience was encouraged to free me from captivity by cutting off my hair with a piece of scissors passed around to the crowd. Themes of the performance were beauty, femininity, and the restrictive nature of aesthetic expectation, all centred around the metaphor of hair. Following the link below, you will find a website dedicated to the process of making the piece, created as an academic exercise required by the dissertation process - this should not be viewed as an official artist's portfolio.

Reidun: the Musical

Created by students at Solbakken Fhs in spring 2012, Reidun: the Musical was a commissioned work for the Norwegian Centre for Senior Politics, an organisation devoted to the challenges and opportunities of senior citizens in the workplace. The short musical was commissioned as part of the Generation Day, a celebration of solidarity between generations. I contributed as one of a group of writers, forging a topical narrative about forced retirement and rewriting the lyrics of popular songs to fit around the story. I also performed as the lead character, Reidun, during the school's visit to the centre's headquarters in Oslo.
This project took place in Norway, and all the links tied to this paragraph are in Norwegian.
